goldilocks and the three bears

In Language Arts we will read Goldilocks and the Three Bears. We will read several versions of this story and compare and contrast how they are different and alike. In centers, the students will work to identify words with blends, blend words, identify and use words for shapes, describe animals and identify the sequence of events in a story.

Amazing Words-bears, porridge, cottage, big, middle-sized, small.

High Frequency Words-one, two, three, four, five.

Our phonics and handwriting lessons will be for the letter Gg.

In Go Math we will start work on Chapter 9. The focus of this chapter is Geometry. The students will identify and name shapes including squares, circles, triangles, rectangles, hexagons, cubes, cones, cylinders and spheres. Common Core standards: CC.K.G.2, CC.K.G. 4 and CC.K.G. 6. Students will be asked to describe the attributes of each shape and compare and contrast how the shapes are alike and different.

In Religion, we continue to talk about Lent and ways to be more like Jesus. We will learn about our new Beatitude for the month of March which is, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.”
