This week in Language Arts, we will read the story, Rooster’s Off to See the World by Eric Carle. Our center work will relate to this lesson. Students will be asked to identify words with O, identify and use words for textures, identify the main idea and make faces from clay to show different feelings. Assessment for unit 3 will be done this week.
Amazing words-world, lonely, trip, horizon, journey, homesick.
High Frequency words-are, that, do.
Phonics and Handwriting lessons will be for the letter Hh.
In Go Math, we will continue our work in Chapter 8. The focus of this chapter is to write, count and represent numbers 20 and beyond. Students will be asked to identify numbers and know count sequence, count to tell the number of objects, and compare numbers. We will have some fun with special Valentine math activities as well this week.
In religion, we will study more about our Beatitude of the month, “Blessed are the clean of heart for they shall see God.” Also, the children will start a writing and art project for our Lenten display.
